betty Betty is a chat bot written by Hoser from British Columbia, Canada. She lives on IRC on Newnet and spends her time in the #30+Hugz channel.

Betty is not an artifical intelligence, but rather a simulated life form. She responds to a list of trigger words and situations. As well, she recognizes commands and can do things like tell jokes, recite poetry and repeat quotes. She also plays Rock-Paper-Scissors and hosts word games.

Betty does not take holidays, but she does sleep. She is online every day from around 7:00 in the morning until around 11:00 in the evening, Pacific Time.
